EMDR Therapy
(Eye Movement Desensisization and Reprocessing)
EMDR is a powerful, research-backed therapy designed to help people heal from trauma, anxiety, and other emotional difficulties.
Many people find that EMDR allows them to move past painful experiences more quickly than traditional talk therapy alone.
How does it work?
When something traumatic happens, sometimes the brain can't process it fully. The memory gets stored in a RAW way, almost like it gets frozen in time. That's why it can still feel like the event is still happening, even years later.
In EMDR, when you bring up that memory while engaging in bilateral eye movements, tapping, or other methods, your brain can finally process it.
The memory doesn't go away but the emotional charge gets released and it gets stored with your healther, more adaptive memories, so it feels like the past instead of the present.
